About The Artist
My work is inspired from my life experiences.
I was surrounded by scrap cars and metal growing up. My family would accumulate all sorts of scrap items and display them out in the field beside my house. I hated looking out the window and seeing rusted machines rotting into the ground, tangled in grass and wild raspberry bushes. I was teased by school mates and wished everyday the field would grow over and hide the ugly-ness of it all.
It wasn't until recently I realized that all the rusted vehicles that surrounded my youth was the root of my current projects - I love producing car portraits that bring out the beauty and roughness of the rust, and reflection of broken glass. I now hang these pieces with pride.
I hope others can see the hidden beauty of my work much faster as I did - apparently I had been missing it all those years.
